The groundwater in the borehole is to be treated using the sustainable SuMeWa solar system so that it remains germ-free even after extraction and is available to residents or schoolchildren at two taps for a small fee (prepaid system).
The project is to be implemented largely with the labour of the local population. In this way, the waterkiosk foundation turns those affected into participants.
The village is located about 6 km from the main road. The villagers can only fetch water from a nearby tap. A borehole has already been drilled by the villagers.
The solution proposed by the waterkiosk foundation is to pump the water from the existing borehole from the well to an elevated tank using a solar pump. The water will be disinfected using a SuMeWa system and distributed to two water taps.
Future expansion of the distribution network is possible. This project, carried out in collaboration with local project partners, will generate income for the local people through online water taps, thus offering a sustainable solution.
