The primary school in Mhelo is situated about half an hour from the nearest town of Lushoto. The primary school in Mhelo has no electricity. The water comes from an open riverbed and is heavily contaminated.

At this school, the commitment and personal contribution were particularly high. Many parents also helped with the construction of the plant, including the laying of the water pipes, the installation and the operation.

They also financed the material and construction of the water towers.
